Their alcohol-free credentials go back further than most. Nanny State landed in 2009, originally brewed as a provocation after tabloid pearl-clutching over their strong beers. The joke turned serious. That hoppy session beer quietly became one of the first widely available craft AF options in the UK and stayed in the lineup ever since.

The AF range has expanded to cover proper ground. Punk AF carries the tropical, grapefruit-laced hop punch of the original into 0.5% territory. Hazy AF leans into the New England style with oats and wheat building body, soft and juicy where Punk is sharp. Lost AF handles lager duties, clean and straightforward. Wingman AF sits lighter for those after something less hop-forward, and Elvis AF throws grapefruit into the mix for a fruitier take on the IPA format.

Then there's Mello, a different proposition altogether. Brewed at 0.0% with functional ingredients like magnesium and chamomile, the Peach and Passionfruit and Lime and Mint variants sit closer to wellness drinks than traditional beer. It's a deliberate move into new territory, targeting chilled aisles and meal deals rather than the beer fixture.

BrewDog AF beers turn up in virtually every major UK supermarket, across their own bar network, and through their website which ships to over a dozen countries. For a brewery that made its name on loud, strong beer, the depth of their alcohol-free range says something about where they see the category going.
