Tripel Hop
The hop-forward variant on Force Majeure's Tripel: floral and citrus hops up front, then Belgian spice through the mid-palate and a clean, bitter finish.
About This Drink
Force Majeure Tripel Hop uses the same three-grain base as the standard Tripel but shifts the emphasis. Where the original leads with soft sweetness and spice, this one leads with hops. Floral and citrus hop character arrives first on the nose, before the softer malt sweetness and subtle spice come through behind it. The pour is clear gold with a white head. On the palate, a gentle sweetness opens things up, then hops and spice move through the mid-palate together. A clean bitterness closes it out. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, the finish is dry with some lasting hop character and gentle spice. The recipe is otherwise identical to the Tripel: barley malt, wheat and oats, brewed at 0.4% ABV. Worth trying alongside the standard Tripel if you want to see what the hop addition actually does.
