Striding Edge Lager
Northern Monk's 2.8% hazy IPA with tropical fruit and pine character. Drinks fuller and more expressive than you'd expect at this strength.
About This Drink
Striding Edge sits at 2.8% ABV, in the low-alcohol territory between session beer and the sub-0.5% category. Northern Monk built it to carry hop character and haze at a strength that wouldn't compromise either. The pour is hazy pale gold with a persistent soft white head. Mango and passionfruit come forward on the nose alongside light pine and a grassy hop note — it smells fresher and more expressive than the ABV number might suggest. On the palate, juicy tropical fruit comes through early, followed by pine resin and a measured bitterness. The malt character is quiet, providing a soft base that keeps the hops in focus. The mouthfeel is fuller than the strength implies. The finish is lightly dry, with hop bitterness that lingers just long enough.
