Seaward is Pentire's citrus-forward expression, built around pink grapefruit, sea buckthorn and wild seaweed alongside sage and sea rosemary from the North Cornwall coastline. It's a different proposition to Adrift: brighter and more overtly citrus-driven, with the herbal and marine notes playing a supporting role rather than leading. The nose is zesty and grapefruit-forward. The palate follows, with sea buckthorn adding a sharp, slightly tart berry note alongside the citrus. The seaweed and sage give it a green, briny quality that keeps it from reading as simply a grapefruit drink. The finish is clean and crisp. At 5 kcal per 100ml it's essentially calorie-free, sugar-free and vegan. It works well as a gin substitute in a spritz or highball serve.
