Pentire grew out of the Cornish coastline. Founder Alistair Frost wanted to bottle the experience of surfing until dusk, camping on cliff tops, and foraging hedgerows for wild ingredients. The result is a range of non-alcoholic spirits built around plants that thrive in Cornwall's unique microclimate.

The name comes from Pentire Point, a headland where specific conditions of soil, salt air, and moisture create a distinctive botanical ecosystem. Frost and his team forage and source ingredients from this landscape, then distil them into spirits designed for people who'd rather be outdoors than nursing a hangover.

Three core products anchor the range. Adrift, the original, blends rock samphire, headland sage, and citrus into something herbaceous and coastal. Seaward takes a brighter direction with pink grapefruit, sea buckthorn, and wild seaweed. The Coastal Spritz offers an aperitif-style option, combining blood orange and sea rosemary with subtle oakwood bitterness. All are plant-based, free from artificial ingredients, and designed to work in simple serves with tonic or soda.

Pentire positions itself firmly in the wellness space without the preachy undertones. The drinks are made for surfers, hikers, and anyone who wants flavour without compromise. That active lifestyle angle feels genuine rather than marketing fluff. Cornwall's outdoor culture runs through everything they do.

The brand holds B Corp certification, reflecting commitments to sustainability that go beyond just sourcing local botanicals. They ship direct across the UK, US, and EU, and you'll find them stocked in specialist retailers and some bars that take their alcohol-free selection seriously.

What Pentire does well is specificity. Rather than creating a generic gin alternative, they've leaned into place. The Cornish coast isn't just branding. It's the actual source of their botanical palette. That terroir-driven approach gives their spirits a distinctive character that generic alcohol-free options lack.

Pentire sits at the premium end of the non-alcoholic spirits market, aimed squarely at people who want something herbaceous and savoury rather than fruit-forward. The specificity works in their favour: if coastal botanicals are your thing, there isn't much else quite like it.
