Le Spritz Sumac & Chili is the most demanding drink in the Ghia range. Tangy sumac berry and chilli pepper extract sit over the botanical base of yuzu, elderflower, gentian root and lemon balm, making for something genuinely complex: sour, spicy, bitter and herbal all competing at once. The can opens with a pungent hit of sumac, tart and berry-like, alongside a faint warmth from the chilli. Yuzu and elderflower arrive first on the palate, creating a brief floral window before the sumac's tartness sharpens through the mid-palate. The chilli heat builds slowly, staying in the finish alongside a clean, dry bitterness from the gentian root. Lemon verbena and rhubarb root add earthy herbal layers that prevent the heat from dominating. Serve very cold, straight from the can. A squeeze of lime over ice tempers the chilli slightly.
