Export Blend is the most overtly spiced of the Glen Dochus range. Cairngorm Highland Spring Water and botanical extracts form the base, but the flavour profile goes somewhere distinctly rich and autumnal: sweet dried fruit, aromatic wood and plenty of warming spice. On the nose, sweet oaty biscuits and heather honey come first, with aromatic smoked cedarwood sitting behind them and adding a sense of depth. The palate is rich and smooth. Warming cinnamon, hot toffee and exotically spiced gingerbread all arrive in good order without tipping into cloying sweetness. Soft smoky oak and a velvety, biscuity texture round out the mid-palate. The finish holds on well, with lasting spice and a certain exotic warmth. If you want the Glen Dochus expression that leans hardest into sherried, spiced territory, this is it.
