Original is exactly what it sounds like: the starting point for the whole Equinox range, without any added fruit or botanical flavouring. It tastes like a well-made kombucha should. There is a clean sourness from the fermentation, a light green tea character underneath, and a gentle fizz that keeps it lively without being aggressive. The acidity is more pronounced here than in the flavoured variants, since there is nothing softening it. If you are new to kombucha, this probably is not where to start. But if you want to understand what the base product actually tastes like, or you want something dry and sharp on a warm day, it does the job well.
