About This Drink
Spoken Into Existence applies Deya's hop-forward brewing approach to a 0.5% pale ale. The hop selection, Citra, Motueka and Nelson Sauvin, is the same combination they use across their full-strength beers, and it's kept in unfiltered, hazy form here rather than stripped back for the low-ABV market. The aroma opens with ripe mango and grapefruit from the Citra, with Motueka adding lime and lemon zest and a floral, almost white-wine note coming from the Nelson Sauvin. On the palate the hop flavour is upfront: tropical stone fruit and citrus peel leading into a light biscuity malt base. The finish is crisp, with a gentle citrus dryness rather than sharp bitterness. The body is light but not thin. It sits comfortably in the pale ale end of the spectrum rather than reaching for IPA territory, which suits the 0.5% format well. A solid option for anyone who wants recognisable craft pale ale character from a can.
