About This Drink
Brulo's Helles takes the German template seriously: Heidelberger, Vienna, and Melanoidin malts alongside Hersbrucker hops, a noble variety known for floral and herbal character rather than big aroma punch. The result is a lager that doesn't try to be anything other than a well-made Helles. It pours bright golden with a frothy white head. The nose is cereal grain and bready malt, fresh and straightforward. On the palate there's light malt sweetness, grassy floral hops, and a faint toast note from the Vienna malt. Bitterness is low and dry, as it should be for the style. The finish is crisp with just enough dryness to keep it from being bland. It's an easy-drinking AF lager that doesn't overcomplicate things, which is harder to pull off than it sounds.
