About This Drink
Lowlander Non-Alc Winter I.P.A. is an annual seasonal, brewed with spruce needles and juniper berries collected from Christmas trees that would otherwise go to waste. The needles are hand-picked and preserved before use. It is a specific flavour proposition: if you do not like pine, this is not for you. The aroma is resolutely evergreen: spruce and pine resin lead, with a citrus note underneath that smells sharp and cold rather than warm or tropical. On the palate the bitterness is clean and assertive, the spruce providing a resinous, slightly mentholated edge. Juniper adds a dry, almost gin-like quality that keeps the finish from being one-dimensional. The body is light and crisp, carbonation firm. The finish is dry and lingering, pine and juniper holding pleasantly. Best drunk cold, ideally outside in a coat.
