Faith Unwind takes the Faith hazy pale ale as its starting point and pulls it in a different direction. Four botanicals — lemon balm, chamomile, passionflower and valerian root — sit alongside the hops, adding a herbal and floral dimension that sets this apart from Northern Monk's other AF offerings. The pour is hazy straw. On the nose, gentle citrus from the hops mixes with something quieter: chamomile, dried lemon verbena, a faint sweetness from the passionflower. It's an unusual combination that works — the botanicals complement the hops rather than fighting them. On the palate, soft citrus character from the hops shares space with a light floral bitterness from the botanicals. The body is light to medium, with a faint oat creaminess that keeps it from feeling thin. The finish fades gently, with dried flowers and a hint of lemon staying on for a moment before dropping away.
