The hop bill mirrors the full-strength Beyond Classic IPA, so the pine and citrus that define that beer are what you get here too. The pour is pale gold with a fine white head. Pine needles and fresh orange pith come forward on the nose, backed by a faint resinous quality. Nothing sweet is masking the hops — it smells like an IPA is supposed to smell. On the palate, pine leads, citrus follows, and a sticky resinous bitterness coats the tongue without turning harsh. Malt is present but quiet, there to provide balance rather than flavour. The finish is dry, with citrus peel and pine hanging around for a while after the sip.
