About This Drink

The hop bill here is doing real work. CTZ, Magnum and Herkules is an unusual combination that leans bitterness and resin rather than the juicy New World style many AF pale ales default to. There's tropical fruit on the nose and through the palate, with mango and citrus coming through alongside grapefruit, and the finish has actual bitterness rather than a sweet fade. The mouthfeel is smooth with decent body for the category. Days uses cold contact fermentation rather than dealcoholisation, keeping fermentation temperatures low to prevent significant alcohol formation during brewing. The barley comes from local farms near the North Berwick brewery. At 69 calories per 330ml it sits comfortably in the lighter end of AF pale ales.
