About This Drink
Crodino Rosso is built on the same botanical base as the original but with blood orange pushed to the front. Also produced by Gruppo Campari, also entirely 0% ABV, and designed for the same aperitivo occasion. No production method is listed separately for Rosso, so it's reasonable to assume it follows a similar botanical infusion process. In the glass it runs a vivid red, somewhere between ruby and pomegranate. The aroma is sharper than the original, more citrus-forward, with blood orange and light spice. On the palate the bitterness is still there but the fruit pulls in the opposite direction, so the balance sits further into bittersweet territory. The finish dries out with herbal warmth and lingering blood orange. If you find the original Crodino slightly too bitter or too herbal for your taste, Rosso is the more approachable entry point. The two work well side by side at a table with charcuterie and aged cheese.
