No Worries FYR OPP!

A collaboration IPA between Lervig and Norwegian barbecue crew Vi Griller, brewed at 0.5% with yuzu juice for a sharp citrus acidity that cuts through grilled food.

About This Drink

No Worries FYR OPP! is a joint project between Lervig and Vi Griller, a Norwegian barbecue outfit, conceived specifically as a food-pairing beer. The name translates loosely as "fire up" in Norwegian, and the concept is fairly literal: yuzu acidity does the work that a squeeze of lemon might do with something fatty coming off the grill. The aroma is distinctively yuzu rather than the more familiar grapefruit - floral, aromatic and slightly perfumed, with dry hops underneath. On the palate the yuzu comes through sharp and tart, with moderate bitterness and a clean, dry finish that doesn't outstay its welcome. It comes in a 440ml can rather than the standard 330ml format, which fits the mealtime positioning. Brewed with Lervig's low-alcohol yeast method that limits fermentation naturally rather than stripping alcohol after the fact.
