Green Mountain is built around four hop varieties chosen to bring as much fruit character as possible: Galaxy, Mosaic, Citra and Amarillo. The malt bill is deliberately restrained — pale, wheat and caramalt — so nothing gets in the way. It pours hazy gold with a white head that holds. Pineapple and stone fruit come through strongly on the nose, with mango underneath. The palate follows suit: juicy, tropical, with a soft rounded body and moderate carbonation. Bitterness is gentle rather than assertive. The finish is clean and short, without the lingering harshness you sometimes get with alcohol-free IPAs that overcompensate with bittering hops. As hazy session IPAs go, it's one of the more convincing examples in the UK.
