Thornbridge
Thornbridge started in 2005 at Thornbridge Hall in Bakewell, Derbyshire. The brewery quickly built a reputation for quality and innovation, collecting hundreds of awards for their beers. Their alcohol-free entry, Green Mountain, applies that same craft brewing expertise to the 0.5% category.
Green Mountain is a session IPA that delivers hop-forward citrus and tropical fruit character without the alcohol. The brewery uses their standard brewing process before carefully removing the alcohol, preserving more of the flavour complexity than you'd get from restricted fermentation. It's designed to satisfy IPA drinkers who want the hop hit without the hangover.
The Bakewell brewery has expanded since those early days but maintains its focus on quality. They've never been interested in competing on volume with the big brewers. Instead, they concentrate on making beers worth seeking out. Green Mountain fits that philosophy: a genuinely good AF beer rather than a compromise product.
Thornbridge demonstrates that established craft breweries can make excellent alcohol-free options when they apply proper attention to the category. They're not treating AF as an afterthought or a box-ticking exercise.
You'll find Green Mountain at Waitrose, Ocado, and specialist beer retailers, as well as direct from Thornbridge's online shop. For craft beer enthusiasts going alcohol-free, whether temporarily or permanently, Thornbridge offers the kind of considered, flavourful option that makes the transition easier.
