About This Drink
Part of Giffard's shrub-inspired alcohol-free range, this one extracts flavour from grapefruit zest through cold vinegar maceration rather than heat or distillation. Black carrot concentrate gives it a salmon pink colour that looks striking in the glass. The nose is vivid: fresh pink grapefruit zest alongside a floral, slightly vegetal rose note that lifts it beyond a straightforward citrus hit. On the palate there's a push and pull between bitterness, acidity, and a restrained sweetness. Citrus and woody notes develop through the mid-palate, and the finish brings a gentle astringency that adds structure rather than harshness. A useful cocktail base for non-alcoholic Palomas and spritzes, or lengthened simply with soda and lime. The bitterness means it integrates better than most fruit bases in builds where complexity is the point.
