The base is alpine juniper with citrus running through it, lemon and lime rather than anything sweeter. There's a herbal, slightly mineral character that comes through on the nose, which the Cairngorms water probably contributes to. On the palate it drinks dry and fairly clean, which makes it a sensible choice for a G&T or a long mixed drink. It's clearly designed to slot into the same occasions as a classic gin. Whether it quite gets there is a matter of how much you need that alcohol warmth, but the botanical profile is considered enough that it doesn't feel like a token effort.
