About This Drink
This takes the Batch 36 recipe (aged British apple cider vinegar, rosemary, thyme, gentian root, wormwood leaf, orange zest, wildflower honey) and combines it with carbonated water in a 250ml can. The result is lighter than the concentrated bottle format, with fine, brisk carbonation and a pale amber colour. On the palate, orange zest comes through first, followed by the clean herbal character of the rosemary and thyme. The apple cider vinegar gives a bright, slightly vinous tang that grounds the sweeter honey notes. Gentian and wormwood pull the finish dry and keep it from tipping into soft drink territory. The carbonation helps too, keeping the body nimble. Compared to the bottle, the convenience is obvious. The trade-off is that you can't adjust the dilution ratio. Over ice it's lively; without it the carbonation does most of the work. No artificial flavourings, essences or preservatives.
