About This Drink
Warner's grows most of what goes into this on their estate in Northamptonshire, which is an unusual starting point for a 0% spirit. Lemon verbena, lemon thyme, rose and lavender come from their own fields; myrrh and spice from elsewhere. Rather than a single extraction approach, they use four: distillation, cold maceration, fresh botanicals and dried, depending on what each ingredient needs. The result has genuine aromatic depth. Pine and herbal notes open it up, rose and lavender sitting underneath, with a flick of pink pepper. On the palate it's soft and herbaceous, cardamom lending some body and spice, citrus cutting through. Cinnamon and a gentle woodiness round off the finish, which is dry and unhurried. It's the kind of 0% spirit that holds up when you mix with it. The botanical complexity gives it something to say in a G&T, rather than just disappearing into the tonic.
