Clean G Rhubarb takes the juniper-led botanical framework of Clean G and puts rhubarb at the front. The soft pale pink colour comes from sweet potato and carrot concentrate rather than artificial colouring. The nose is immediately fruity: fresh rhubarb and citrus come through clearly before the gin botanicals follow. On the palate, rhubarb leads with juniper falling in behind, alongside orange, grapefruit and the herbal character of rosemary and lavender. The body is light with a gentle roundness from the glycerine base, and the finish is herbaceous with a slight tartness from the rhubarb. No sugar added. If you want the rhubarb note to come through clearly, a neutral or elderflower tonic tends to work better than a strongly flavoured one.
