About This Drink
Le Rosé is built from dealcoholised organic Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown in France. The Pinot Noir brings the colour and the berry character; the Chardonnay provides the structure and acidity. Like Le Blanc, it begins as full-strength organic wine before gentle dealcoholisation, which is the right approach if you want the result to taste like wine rather than sparkling juice. The nose is the strong suit: rose petals, wild berries, white peach. It's genuinely inviting. On the palate there's a mineral backbone underneath the floral generosity, with dry peach and a lively berry acidity keeping things from tipping into sweetness. Gensac spring water and organic lemon juice are in the blend, adding brightness without adding sugar. The finish is clean with a lingering peach note. It sits in the same territory as Le Blanc in terms of complexity, which is to say it's a well-executed, honest glass of something without the ambition of the vintage expression.
