About This Drink
Drink'in the Sun is one of Mikkeller's best-known non-alcoholic beers and one of the early examples that made the case for 0.3% as a serious ABV bracket. It's an American pale wheat ale fermented with Mikkeller's mikkellensis yeast, which adds a lightly fruity, slightly tart edge to the wheat malt base. The pour is the first thing you notice: deep amber-orange with a full, long-lasting white head that holds longer than most alcohol-free beers manage. The aroma has an initial sweetness — brown bread, a faint worty quality — before opening up toward pineapple and light tropical fruit. On the palate, wheat malt dominates, with subtle lychee threading through. The mouthfeel is the real standout: full and creamy, with fine tight carbonation that gives it genuine viscosity. The finish is dry and bitter, clean without any trailing sweetness. Best cold from the can.
