Rubus Framboise 0.0

A 0.0% Belgian fruit beer brewed with real raspberries, pouring a vivid crimson with a dry, clean finish that avoids the sickly sweetness that catches out a lot of fruit beers.

About This Drink

Kasteel Rubus Framboise 0.0 comes from Brouwerij Vanhonsebrouck in Belgium, the family brewery also responsible for the full-strength Rubus Framboise. This non-alcoholic version is brewed with real raspberries rather than flavouring, which shows. The pour is a deep crimson-red with a delicate pink head. The raspberry is upfront and direct on the nose, with a faint malty backdrop keeping it from smelling like cordial. On the palate it is bright and fruity, with a light dry bitterness doing the important work of stopping it becoming too sweet. The body is on the lighter side, with fine carbonation that keeps things lively. The raspberry fades cleanly on the finish. It works on its own or alongside soft cheese and light pastries. The dryness gives it more versatility than fruit beers that sit purely in the sweet camp.
