Kasteel brings Belgian brewing heritage into the alcohol-free space with characteristic flair. The brand sits within Brewery Vanhonsebrouck, an independent family operation that's been brewing in Belgium since 1811. Six generations later, they're still family-owned and operating at scale.

The Kasteel range launched in 1989 with Kasteel Donker, a formidable quadruple that put the brand on the map. From there, they built out a collection of strong Belgian ales and fruit beers, earning recognition across more than 60 countries. The Rouge, a cherry-infused strong beer introduced in 2007, became something of a gateway Belgian for drinkers discovering the style.

Their alcohol-free lineup carries forward the fruit beer expertise. Kasteel Rouge 0.0 delivers the cherry character that made the original famous. Kasteel Rubus brings raspberry into the mix, while Kasteel Tropical offers something lighter and more exotic. All three sit at true 0.0% ABV.

What makes these interesting is the source. Belgian breweries have spent centuries perfecting complex, flavourful beers. When that same expertise turns to alcohol-free brewing, the results tend to have more depth than you'd expect. Vanhonsebrouck runs one of the most modern brewing facilities in Europe, combining old-world knowledge with contemporary technique.

Kasteel's alcohol-free fruit beers turn up in specialist bottle shops and online retailers across the UK. The range skews sweeter and more fruit-forward than most AF beer, which won't suit everyone but suits those styles very well.
