About This Drink
NOLIA is Beak's alcohol-free line. The hops are sourced from named farms rather than blended commodity stock, which is the brewery's thing across their whole range. At 0.5%, this is about as low as a hazy IPA can go while still tasting like one. It pours a cloudy gold. The aroma is the strong suit: mango, apricot and lime zest come through clearly, and there's a resinous quality that keeps it from reading as juice. The palate follows the nose reasonably well. Body is medium-light, bitterness is soft, and the finish dries out with some lime peel hanging around. Not a lot of weight to it, but it doesn't feel thin either. For an AF IPA it's well-executed. The hop character is there in a way that actually justifies the category rather than just naming it.
