Halo Alc-Free Organic IPA
Certified organic alcohol-free IPA from Black Isle Brewery in the Scottish Highlands, with tropical fruit from the hop bill and a clean mineral edge.
About This Drink
Black Isle has been making organic beer in the Scottish Highlands since the 1990s. Halo is their alcohol-free range, brewed to the same organic standards as the rest of the lineup and certified vegan. The IPA sits at 0.3% ABV. Pours pale gold. The aroma is tropical and fairly forward, with pineapple and tangerine zest coming through alongside a light mineral quality that keeps it grounded. On the palate there's juicy tropical fruit and a subtle resinous note from the hops, with a dry mineral bitterness rounding things out at the end. The malt base stays firmly in the background, which is where it belongs in an IPA. It's a solid AF IPA. The organic certification and Scottish provenance give it a point of difference, and the hop character holds up well for something at 0.3%.
