About This Drink
Kiuchi Brewery built this on a base of Kaneko Golden Malt, Munich and Pilsner malts with Amarillo, Pacifica and Perle hops, then added real yuzu and ginger. The yuzu does most of the talking: the aroma is immediately fragrant, all bright citrus peel with soft floral notes beneath. Ginger provides warmth without pushing into anything sharp or aggressive. The malt base sits underneath without getting in the way, which keeps it from reading purely as a flavoured soft drink. Mouthfeel is light with gentle carbonation, and the finish is short with a clean citrus note that fades quickly. It's an unusual combination of proper Japanese brewing heritage and distinctive local ingredients. At 0.3% it's genuinely low, and the yuzu does enough work that it holds your attention across a glass.
