About This Drink
Lowlander Non-Alc Ginger Beer sits somewhere between beer and ginger beer: there is a brewed grain base, but ginger is unmistakably the lead ingredient. The brewery uses real ginger root rather than flavouring, which gives the spice a raw, slightly fibrous quality that synthetic versions tend to lack. It pours a clear amber-gold. The nose is upfront ginger, fresh and peppery, with a faint citrus sweetness behind it. On the palate ginger arrives immediately with a sharp, warming bite, then sweet citrus notes soften and balance it. The malt character is present but understated, acting as a backdrop rather than competing with the spice. The body is medium, carbonation clean and prickly. The finish is warm and lingers, the ginger sitting on the back of the throat without tipping into harshness.
