About This Drink
UNLTD use a controlled fermentation process that lets the beer finish naturally at 0.5% ABV, rather than brewing to full strength and removing the alcohol afterwards. It's a different approach to most AF beers and it shows in the result: the body and hop character are better preserved than in many dealcoholised versions. It pours dark amber with good clarity and a light white head. The nose is sweet caramel and honeycomb with lime citrus and pine resin underneath. On the palate you get toasty malt and roasted grain up front, with earthy hop bitterness building steadily through the middle. The finish is long and dry, noticeably more bitter than the nose suggests. There's genuine bitterness here, which is what you're looking for from an IPA. It drinks well chilled straight from the can.
