Northern Monk's 0.5% take on Striding Edge IPA. Tropical fruit and pine with a silky mouthfeel that punches above what you'd normally get at this ABV.
About This Drink
Super Stredge is the full-zero version of Striding Edge, brought down to 0.5% while trying to hold onto the hop character that makes the original worth drinking. It's Northern Monk's most direct test of how far AF brewing can go with an IPA. The pour is hazy pale gold. Mango and stone fruit come through on the nose alongside pine resin and a grassy undertone — similar territory to Striding Edge, just quieter. On the palate, tropical fruit comes through cleanly, with pine following and a soft bitterness rounding things off. The mouthfeel is notably silky for 0.5%, oats lending body and creaminess that stops it feeling thin. The malt profile stays neutral, keeping the hops where they should be. The finish is dry with lingering pine. It holds together well as a session drink in the sub-0.5% category.
