About This Drink
Eisberg Selection Sparkling Blanc de Blancs is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes sourced from quality European wineries, with the alcohol removed by vacuum distillation. The single-variety approach is the main differentiator from Eisberg's other sparkling whites, and the varietal character shows. It pours a clean pale gold with fine, consistent effervescence. The nose is distinctly Chardonnay: Mirabel plum and ripe yellow apple open first, followed by pear and a delicate brioche note. The palate is round and reasonably well-structured for a dealcoholised wine. The racy acidity provides backbone and freshness that many alcohol-free sparklers lack, so it doesn't flatten out mid-palate the way cheaper versions do. The finish is dry and elegant, with the stone fruit character persisting. Of the Eisberg sparkling range, this one makes the most serious attempt at a champagne-style structure.
