Clean W uses natural flavourings of cedarwood, ginger, pine and bitter orange, with natural caramel colouring giving it a warm amber appearance. Vegetable glycerine provides the body that alcohol would normally contribute. The nose offers dry oak and cedarwood with bitter orange and a ginger spice background. On the palate it is gently smoky and woody with vanilla sweetness, and fresh apple and dried fig add a fruit dimension that keeps the profile from being purely woody. The mouthfeel is smooth and medium-bodied, and the finish has a spiced warmth that fades gradually. It is a whisky-style spirit rather than a strict Scotch approximation, so if you are looking for something with peated or malt character you will not find it here. As the base of a long drink with ginger ale or cola, it holds its own reasonably well.
