Tanqueray 0.0% is made by immersing the botanicals in water and distilling them in the same way the full-strength gin is made, just without alcohol as the base. The result is crystal clear and genuinely juniper-forward in a way that sets it apart from a lot of the AF category. On the palate you get piney juniper and lemon peel leading, with coriander spice and a faint thread of liquorice underneath. The mouthfeel is lighter than full-strength gin, as you'd expect, but it doesn't feel thin. The finish is clean and dry. It's one of the more convincing straight analogues to London Dry in the non-alcoholic spirits category. It holds its own in a G&T and doesn't need unusual garnishes or elaborate builds to work.
