Crossip makes Rich Berry through cold maceration of whole botanical ingredients rather than distillation, which lets the dark fruit character come through with some depth. Damson, blackberry, and sour cherry do most of the work, with clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg adding warmth. The nose is dominated by dark hedgerow fruit with a trace of raspberry and a light eucalyptus note underneath. On the palate it opens ripe and jammy before the spice pulls things in a more complex direction through the mid-palate. Sour cherry provides acidity and backbone. The finish is dry and long, wormwood and gentian keeping things honest.
