Lyre's Coffee Originale is a zero-proof coffee liqueur built on real coffee infusion alongside sugar, caramel colour, and natural flavourings. It is arguably the most convincing product in the Lyre's range: coffee's natural intensity does a lot of the heavy lifting, and there is less of a gap to bridge than with spirit alternatives. The nose is freshly roasted coffee, burnt caramel, and vanilla, with hints of dark chocolate, dried fig, and a faint berry note underneath. On the palate, espresso comes through strongly alongside warm spice and caramel, then toasted nuts on the mid-palate. It is sweet and concentrated, with a generous finish built around vanilla and coffee warmth. The body is full and slightly syrupy. The natural base for a non-alcoholic Espresso Martini: cold brew, a dash of sugar syrup to taste, and a vigorous shake. It also works as a float over iced oat milk for a quick after-dinner drink.
