Fieldhopper is a traditional English golden ale built around East Kent Goldings, the variety that defines the style. The floral, earthy character of those hops is there from the moment you pour: gentle, not aggressive, backed by pale malt, a trace of wholemeal bread and a hint of honey. On the palate the floral quality carries through, with red apple and peach appearing alongside soft honeyed malt. Bitterness builds as you drink rather than landing all at once, becoming the leading note towards the end of the glass. The finish is dry and lingering. At 12.4 kcal per 100ml it's one of the lighter options in Big Drop's range. Gluten-free and suitable for vegans.
