Non-Alcoholic Italian Spritz
A ready-to-drink non-alcoholic spritz built around blood orange soda and botanical extracts, including wormwood, designed to sit in aperitivo territory.
About This Drink
Fever-Tree's Non-Alcoholic Italian Spritz comes in a can and is built to occupy the same pre-dinner space as a Aperol or Campari spritz, without the alcohol. The blood oranges come from Southern Italy and Sicily, grown in volcanic soils near Mount Etna, and the bitter edge comes from wormwood and balsam extracts rather than a spirit base. No artificial sweeteners. It pours a deep amber with orange hues and light fizz. Blood orange leads on the nose with herbal notes underneath and a faint warmth from the botanicals. On the palate the bitterness sits more prominently than the sweetness, which gives it more character than most AF RTDs in this category. The carbonation is lively, and the finish is dry with a trailing herbal note. On its own over ice it works well enough. The bittersweet balance is genuine rather than confected, and the lack of artificial sweetener keeps the aftertaste clean.
