About This Drink
The Flor de Sevilla 0.0% is made by distilling Tanqueray's core botanicals in water rather than spirit, then layering in Seville orange flavouring. That production approach means the botanical character is genuinely there, even if it sits lighter than in the full-strength version. The colour is an amber-tinged orange from approved food colourings. On the nose you get ripe orange and orange blossom up front, with juniper and coriander sitting just behind. On the palate it's bittersweet rather than simply sweet, the tartness of Seville orange doing real work to balance things out. The finish is short and clean, citrus all the way through. This works best in a long drink over plenty of ice with tonic, where the carbonation lifts the orange and botanical notes. If your context is citrus-forward, this is a more interesting choice than the standard Tanqueray 0.0%.
