GWYR comes from the Gower Gin Company at Port Eynon on the Gower coast. Sero is their non-alcoholic spirit, and unlike many in this category it's not a dealcoholised version of their gin — it's distilled as a standalone botanical product. The name means "zero" in Welsh. Juniper leads, with citrus peel and ginger following behind it. There's capsicum extract in the recipe, which gives the spirit some actual backbone rather than the thin, watery texture that trips up a lot of botanical alternatives. The mouthfeel is light but not absent, and the finish is short and dry — brisk rather than lingering. Zero calories, zero carbs. Works in a long G&T-style serve or over ice with soda.
