GWYR
The Gower Gin Company operates from a converted bike shed in Port Eynon, a small village on Wales's Gower Peninsula. Founded in 2016 by Andrew and Siân Brooks, the distillery turned a passion for local foraging into an award-winning spirits business. GWYR, Welsh for 'made', captures their philosophy of crafting drinks that reflect the coastal landscape surrounding them.
Sustainability runs through everything they do. Botanicals are foraged following the Foraging Code, base spirits are organic, and packaging is recycled. This commitment earned them Sustainable Business of the Year at the Food and Drink Wales Awards in 2022, followed by Small Drinks Producer of the Year in 2024.
Their alcohol-free offering, GWYR Sero (or Zero), brings the same botanical approach to the growing AF spirits category. The spirit leads with juniper and citrus, finished with a warming ginger note. It's designed to work with tonic or your preferred mixer, served with a wedge of lime. At zero calories and zero carbs, it sits comfortably alongside their alcoholic gins while offering something for those avoiding alcohol.
GWYR Sero is available through Welsh independent retailers and online. For those near Swansea, the distillery runs tasting sessions at their Port Eynon site, giving visitors a chance to explore the full range and see where the magic happens.
