About This Drink

Krombacher brew this to Reinheitsgebot standards and remove the alcohol after fermentation, which at least means it's been through a proper brewing process rather than built from extract. In the glass it's pale gold with a white head that doesn't hang around long. The aroma is understated: a bit of grainy malt, some grassy hop, a trace of citrus. Nothing that jumps out, but nothing off either. On the palate there's a light biscuit malt base, the kind of gentle sweetness you'd expect from a German lager grain bill, with Hallertau bitterness coming in to dry things out. The body is quite thin and the carbonation is tight rather than lively. The finish is clean and dry. It tastes like a pilsner stripped of its weight, which is about right for 0.0%.
