About This Drink

The approach here is to brew a proper lager first, then strip the alcohol out afterwards. That matters because it means you get the malt character and hop bitterness that develop during a full fermentation cycle, rather than a brew that was always destined to be thin. In the glass it's light to medium in body with a smooth texture. There's a floral note on the nose, some gentle malt sweetness in the middle, and enough hop bitterness to keep it from going flat on the palate. The finish is dry and clean, which is what you want from a lager. It's one of the most widely stocked AF lagers in the UK. You'll find it in most supermarkets and increasingly on draught in pubs that have bothered to set up a proper alcohol-free tap. If you're after something familiar and easy-drinking rather than anything bold or adventurous, it does the job.
