The IPA takes a West Coast angle: Vienna and Munich malts build a smooth biscuit-caramel backbone, and a heavy dry hop of Mosaic, Nectaron, and Simcoe does the rest. Pine, stone fruit, and grapefruit come through with real assertiveness on the nose. The colour is a clear light amber with a white head. On the palate the hop character is the main event: tropical fruit and citrus up front, with mango and lemon sitting alongside the more resinous pine notes. The malt base gives enough structure without getting in the way. The finish is zesty and lingers with grapefruit and pine resin. For a 0.5% beer, the hop intensity is genuinely present rather than implied.
