About This Drink
CISK has been brewed in Malta since the 1930s and the 0.0% version follows the same process as the flagship lager before the alcohol gets removed. That matters because it means the malt character has had a chance to develop properly before anything is stripped out. It pours a clear pale gold. The nose is clean and grainy with a faint biscuit quality. On the palate there's soft malt up front, a restrained hop bitterness that keeps it dry, and a brief fruity note at the finish. Light-bodied with moderate carbonation. Nothing dramatic, but it holds together well and avoids the thin or medicinal quality that lets down a lot of dealcoholised lagers. At zero sugar and around 20 calories per 100ml, it's about as clean as lagers get.
