Pirate's Grog made their name on Honduran rum, and the botanical list for NO DRAMA reads accordingly. Pineapple, lime leaf, ginger, clove, cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla, toasted coconut, cocoa nib, roasted dandelion root and green tea make up the backbone, with Lion's Mane mushroom added as a functional ingredient. The whole thing pours a hazy amber. On the nose there's fresh pineapple and lime alongside ginger and cardamom. The palate follows: citrus leads, then clove and cinnamon take over, with vanilla and coconut softening the midpalate. The finish goes dry and earthy, shaped by the dandelion root and green tea, with some lingering spice. The body is light to medium, and served neat it can feel on the thin side. Lengthen it with tonic or soda and it comes into its own. The ginger is assertive enough to carry the drink through most long-serve formats.
