About This Drink
Pours a deep ruby with a garnet rim. The nose is smooth and dark-fruited: black cherry, chocolaty plum and a hint of spice from the oak contact. On the palate there's genuine texture for a dealcoholised red; the body is medium-light with a slight sweetness and very low tannin. Black cherry runs through the mid-palate, and the finish fades softly without any astringency. The partial French oak ageing before dealcoholisation is what makes this worth noting. Most alcohol-free reds skip oak entirely, so even a brief time in barrel adds complexity you don't often encounter in the category. Torres uses vacuum distillation at low temperature to remove the alcohol while retaining the aromatic profile from both the fruit and the oak. The Garnacha and Syrah combination is the same pairing used in the Natureo red.
