Chardonnay
Dealcoholised white wine from Germany's Pfalz and Baden regions, blending Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, with a lean fruit-forward palate and dry finish.
About This Drink
Made at the Leitz estate, this blends Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc from two German wine regions. The grapes are fully fermented before alcohol is removed by vacuum distillation at low temperatures, which helps preserve the aromatic character rather than cooking it off. In the glass it is pale straw and clear. The nose is light and fruit-forward: pear, pineapple, and a touch of peach, with fresh citrus keeping it from feeling heavy. On the palate the fruit carries through with a gentle tropical softness and clean acidity. The body is lean and the finish is dry, which makes it sit closer to the wine end of the dealcoholised spectrum rather than fruit juice. Serve well chilled.
